Introducing Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the youngest Minister for the Ashanti Region under Mahama's administration.

Dr. Frank Amoakohene, born on April 12, 1984, in Kumasi, Ghana, is a distinguished medical professional and youth leader with extensive experience in healthcare, governance, and public service. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ghana, a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Science degree from the University for Development Studies, and an MBA from Accra Business School.

In his political career, Dr. Amoakohene has held significant leadership roles, including serving as the President of the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), where he championed student welfare and advocacy at the national level. He was elected as the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in November 2022.

In January 2025, President John Dramani Mahama nominated Dr. Amoakohene as the Ashanti Regional Minister, making him one of the youngest individuals to hold this position.
During his vetting, he donned a customized kente cloth featuring symbols such as the porcupine, spider web, and akofena, representing the rich culture and traditions of the Ashanti people.

Dr. Amoakohene is married to Mrs. Juliet Amoakohene, a midwife at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. She has expressed confidence in her husband's competence and dedication to advancing the development of the Ashanti Region.

As the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Amoakohene has pledged to work diligently to ensure the region's continued growth and prosperity for the benefit of all residents.
